White House Holds Twitter @TOWNHALL

Today President Obama will participate in the first-ever White House Twitter town hall.  In 140 characters or less, Americans will be able to pose questions to the President.  You can view the town hall at AskObama.Twitter.Com and Whitehouse.gove/live.  At present, the White House Twitter account @whitehouse has more than 2 million followers. 

This town hall is a continuation of this administration's to use social media and the internet to connect with Americans.  But there's something about the use of Twitter specifically that feels very, very 21st Century America.  For example, Millennials are more likely than other generations to use Twitter, and African Americans and Latinos are more likely than whites to use Twitter.  It will be interesting to watch today's town hall and see how many of those questions reflect this reality.
