NDN President Simon Rosenberg hosts a discussion of Dr. Rob Shapiro's new book, Futurecast - Thursday, April 10

Simon Rosenberg, NDN President, hosts a discussion with Dr. Rob Shapiro, Chair of the NDN Globalization Initiative, on his new book, Futurecast: How Superpowers, Populations, and Globalization Will Change the Way You Live and Work, as part of the San Francisco debut of the Bernard Schwartz Forums on Economic Policy. The Fairmont San Francisco (950 Mason St.), 8:00-9:30am. RSVP here.

In Futurecast, Dr. Rob Shapiro draws upon his unique perspective on American and world affairs to chart the next dozen years of international and national progress. He explores the monumental forces that will shape the fates of the world's major countries and their people: economic globalization; demographic aging of societies; the rise of a sole superpower; threats of terrorism and the promise of technology; and national struggles to maintain access to health care and secure energy sources without destroying the global environment.

The NDN Globalization Initiative's new Bernard Schwartz Forums on Economic Policy focus on the various policy issues raised by globalization. These forums are an opportunity for experts, scholars, and business leaders to discuss the impact of globalization on the U.S. and global economies and to contribute to NDN's work to advance a new national economic strategy that makes globalization work for all Americans.
