NDN Polls Show Strong Support for Immigration Reform in Key Battleground States
Here at NDN earlier today, Sergio Bendixen presented the results of a new immigration poll which he debuted yesterday at the CHCI Conference. NDN President Simon Rosenberg and V.P. of Hispanic Programs Andres Ramirez hosted Bendixen, and Ramirez introduced today's event with a glance back at our Hispanics Rising II presentation, which was first given back in May.
In Bendixen's report, he explored findings from four heavily Hispanic-populated states: Florida, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado. Although there are more than just the four of these that are considered "toss-up" states, these four could very possibly swing the election for Obama if Hispanic voter trends continue in his favor. USA Today's Kathy Kiely discusses Obama's advantage as it relates to Bendixen's poll, and, as Simon points out in his post, Latinos will be a key group to watch when determining how the electoral college map will play out in November.
NDN has long insisted on the importance of the Hispanic vote, and you can learn more about that and about our Hispanic Programs here.
