Yesterday, on Capitol Hill, NDN hosted a discussion on electric grid modernization with Congressmen Jay Inslee and Earl Blumenauer, Commissioner Jon Wellinghoff of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Kurt Yeager, leader of the Galvin Electricity Initiative, and Reid Detchon, Executive Director for Energy and Climate at the United Nations Foundation.  They discussed the vision for a modernized electric grid and the need for moving away from old, energy-inefficient infrastructure to a more long-term modern, clean, sustainable one.  Be sure to read our recent relevant pieces on this topic, such as Green Project Director Michael Moynihan's Accelerating the Development of a 21st Century Economy: Investing in Clean Infrastructure and Solar Energy: The Case for Action; Rob Shapiro and Simon Rosenberg's essay on A Stimulus for the Long Run, and Investing in Our Common Future: U.S. Infrastructure.
