NDN Event, Thur Feb 19th: Making the Case for Passing Immigration Reform This Year
On Thursday, February 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., please join NDN and a strong group of thoughtful presenters as we make the case for why Congress can, and should, pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform this year.
The panel will feature Simon Rosenberg of NDN, Rick Johnson of Lake Research, Pete Brodnitz of the Benenson Strategy Group, Janet Murguia of National Council of La Raza (NCLR), and Frank Sharry of America's Voice. Simon Rosenberg is President of NDN, a leading progressive think tank and advocacy organization. Rosenberg has worked in national politics and the media world for more than 20 years. He started his career in network television, as a writer and producer at ABC News for five years, before working on the Dukakis and Clinton presidential campaigns. He has been a leader in creating a 21st century progressive movement, an influential champion of a new and more modern agenda for the nation, and an innovator in helping progressives use new tools and media to communicate with rapidly growing demographic groups such as Hispanics and Millennials.
Rick Johnson is a Vice President at Lake Research Partners, where he has designed, conducted and analyzed public opinion research for a number of clients. In addition, he has worked with candidates at all levels of the political process. Johnson joined LRP in 2004 after working for General Mills in Minneapolis and also has worked as an independent consultant providing distribution and competitive intelligence research to European confections companies, for Market Facts (now Synovate) creating new market research tools, managing their diary business and managing their joint ventures, and for the Gallup Organization.
Pete Brodnitz is a Principal at Benenson Strategy Group. Brodnitz brings almost two decades of research experience to his clients, ranging from heads of state on three continents to domestic political work at all levels (from nationwide to municipal and state legislative), to Fortune 500 corporate research and work with non-profits. Brodnitz has also conducted polling for Democratic-leaning issue advocacy groups such as the New Democratic Network (NDN), the Third Way Foundation, the Brookings Institution and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), as well corporate clients such as Google.org, Microsoft, Novartis, ESPN, and TIAA-CREF.
Janet Murguía has become a key figure among the next generation of leaders in the Latino community. Since January 1, 2005, she has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States. Murguía's public service, which began as legislative counsel to former Kansas Congressman Jim Slattery, then in the White House from 1994 to 2000, ultimately serving as deputy assistant to President Clinton, is complemented by her extensive political experience having served as deputy campaign manager and director of constituency outreach for the Gore/Lieberman presidential campaign.
Frank Sharry is Founder and Executive Director of America's Voice, an organization he created to focus on communications and media as part of a renewed effort to win comprehensive immigration reform. Prior to heading America's Voice, Frank served as Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum for 17 years. The Forum, based in Washington D.C., is one of the nation's premier immigration policy organizations, and has been at the center of every major legislative and policy debate related to immigration for the past quarter of a century.

America do not need another amnesty!
Frank sharry tend to see a dream only of the good that an comprehensive immigration reform with an amnesty or legalization for 12-30 million illegal aliens would bring to America, he and his group of people who thinks like he does, or so blind to what the future of America amnesty would bring! All an immigration reform with an amnesty attach to it would bring to America, is living hell! America was invaded by millions of illegal aliens, who had just under minded all American laws, learn to live and survive off false pretense, false social security numbers, some America social security numbers, false names, also are using these false things, to get employment in America! Frank saids that illegal aliens are hard working people, sure they hard working people, working with no legal status here, Americans are hard working people in their own country, and they are required to have legal status, background checks, AND BE throughly investagated before they are hired in America!
Illegal aliens are no harder worker then Americans are, i worked with many of them, they work for cheaper wages most of the time, and thats what wins them over in America, Frank sharry is a big sell out of his own Americans! and so are people like him, he will not be satisfied until he and all his illegal aliens advocates like him turn America into Mexico just to satisfy his illegal aliens! It seems to be always about illegal aliens and and all their children, that they bring to America, and children they have while they are in America on all their illegal satus! Illegal aliens tend to use their children to get what they want in America, American are force to hear their children sad stories, how they were force to come to America by their parents! Our politicians should be worrying about helping their own poor American whites, Hispanics and Blacks and other Americans to seek higher education! Illegal aliens have a way of scheming and scaming our American system, and suddenly all of what they do is suddenly alright because they want the American dream, for them selves and their children!
How can Frank sharry even discuss anything about illegal alien demand and needs they want of America, and at the same time just ignore the demands and needs of his own Americans citizens, how can he and other people like him allow another country millions of poor people come to America illegally to so boldly, rudely, just jump them selves in the front line of millions of poor and middle class Americans like they do on their illegal status, suddenly he had for gotten about American laws! We Americans understand that America is a country of immigrants! That is legal immigration who abide our American laws, not step on our laws! We Americans also realize that America is a country of laws! Now all American laws seem to be block just allowing the flood gates wide open so illegal aliens can come across our borders on their illegal status any time they want to, and if they find away to stay and not get caught, they could win an amnesty or legalization! Oh how great!! This in reality is terrible for America!
Just look at our birthright laws, it is suddenly alright for illegal aliens to just continue to use this, to have millions of their children born here get an automatic American citizenship! regardless that this is A SNEAKY AMNESTY FOR MILLIONS OF THEIR CHILDREN BORN IN AMERICA ALONE! IT IS HELPING THEIR OVER POPULATION AT A VERY FAST PACE, SURE THE HISPANIC RACE IS OR HAS BECOME THE OVER POPULATED RACE IN AMERICA, I WONDER WHY? OF COURSE THROUGH PASSED AMNESTIES, AND OUR AMERICAN BIRTHRIGHT LAWS, THIS IS NOT BEING RACIST, I COULD SEE WHY IT WOULD BE CALLED THAT, BECAUSE OUR OVER POPULATION OF HISPANICS IN AMERICA, ARE COMING MOSTLY FROM MEXICO! FOR WHAT SOME OF OUR AMERICAN PLOITICIANS AND FRANK SHARRY WANT FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS IN AMERICA, IT WILL CAUSE OUR BEAUTIFUL AMERICA, TO CHANGE IN TO A NEW MEXICO, JUST TO BENEFIT ILLEGAL ALIENS, AND BEING SO THE HISPANIC RACE WILL BE THE OVER POPULATED RACE IN AMERICA, FROM PASSED AMNESTIES, AND PERHAPS A FURTUR AMNESTY, AND OF COURSE THROUGH OUR AMERICAN BIRTHRIGHT LAW, AMERICANS WOULD BECOME SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY, AS MATTER OF FACT IT IS HAPPENING NOW, MAYBE THIS EXPLAINS WHY THEIR ARE MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS IN OUR EMPLOYMENT, WHILE MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE UNEMPLOYED!!!!!
