Mike Salamon was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he lived until his family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida when he was in middle school. After graduating from high school, Mike spent a year in Israel volunteering and studying, which is where he first acquired his passion for politics and international affairs. After returning from Israel, Mike attended Florida State University where he was active as a member of the Student Senate, and with several student groups and organizations. He graduated in 2005 with a degree in Political Science and Religion.
Mike moved to Washington, DC immediately after college. After arriving in the city, he worked as the Federal Affairs Associate for the Wildlife Conservation Society, and as an intern for Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL), before coming to NDN in October of 2007.
