I keenly follow American politics as a contrast to our situation in Australia. I find it interesting that the entitled debate still gets an airing in America, because in Australia we are so more far left (socialist) and yet we have the same level of debate on the topic. It is such a cultural context which influences what is entitled and what is earned.

Then again we don't have the deficit situation the US has right now...

But a health debate assures a society finds the balance best for it. Good luck with the election.

PS the debate about whether the US government subsidised the dawn of the net is new to me - would be worth further research. How many sunset industries emerge from Governement? how do we quantify the value of this?
